From the captivating landscapes of Balochistan, the entrancing sounds of the benju, an instrument resembling a zither (originally believed to be a Japanese children's toy), are brought to life by the maestro himself, Ustad Noor Baksh, in his debut solo release. The album takes its name from a feathered companion that frequently graces Noor's home, also serving as inspiration for the closing track. "Jingul" was recorded live along the banks of the Shadi Kaur creek, near his village nestled between Pakistan and Iran. This album masterfully channels the rich tapestry of influences from Africa, Persia, and Arabia's storied past.
